Good Practice by Chloe Brathwaite
"There is so much beauty and identity to be found in being unique."
'Good Practice' is the informative and insightful memoir by Physician Associate, Chloe Brathwaite. Often known as a profession that is not widely known, Chloe takes readers on a journey of her educational journey & learning difficulties, to eventually becoming a Physician Associate.
This book took me a while to get through, not due to lack of enjoyment, but rather because I wanted to soak up every bit of this gorgeous memoir.
I'll be honest, the health sector is not something that I have much interest in usually, but this memoir had me invested! I loved the way in which Chloe shared her personal anecdotes relating to her childhood, her diagnosis of dyslexia and spLD & of course the stories of her time during her university placements.
Learning difficulties were one of my favourite aspects of this memoir. Despite the challenges Chloe faced, she continued to strive to find ways around her dyslexia, which I can't imagine was easy to do.
The stories read as very personable & there were a number of occasions where I laughed out loud... The flat share 😭😂 IYKYK
I won't lie. At times, I was left feeling QUEASY due to some of the descriptions of the surgeries, etc. There was even one night that my head was left feeling woozy 😭😭😂😂
Please note that there are references to mental illness & suicide, so please tread with caution if these topics are triggering
If you are on the hunt for a new memoir, then THIS is it! Let me know if 'Good Practice' is on your TBR?
